Patricia “Pat” Moore is a Louisiana state representative and Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District in the 2026 election.
Pat Moore has represented Louisiana House District 17 since 2019, serving Ouachita Parish. Before serving in the Legislature, she was a member of the Ouachita Parish Police Jury from 2007 through 2019. She also previously worked for State Farm Insurance Company.
Pat Moore is running for Congress with an emphasis on representing working families and communities throughout the 5th District. Her campaign identifies affordability, healthcare, education, economic opportunity, infrastructure, disaster recovery and support for rural communities among the issues she intends to address in Congress.
Experience in Louisiana Government
During her tenure in the Louisiana House, Moore has served on committees dealing with criminal justice, municipal and parochial affairs, transportation, highways and public works, disaster recovery, and women and children. She is also affiliated with the Louisiana Democratic Caucus, Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, Louisiana Legislative Women’s Caucus and Louisiana Rural Caucus.
Her approach to public service as centered on listening to constituents, working across party lines when possible, and bringing attention and resources to communities she represents.
