Connecting Hammond, Ponchatoula, and Tangipahoa Parish Since 2000
In December 2026, MyHammond.com will celebrate 26 years online. The anniversary marks more than a quarter-century of connecting people with local businesses, community organizations, government agencies, and information about the places where they live.
The milestone comes during an important new chapter for the website: in 2026, MyHammond.com launched a completely new website, bringing a refreshed online experience to its community of users.
A Community Website Ahead of Its Time
When MyHammond.com officially launched in December 2000, the internet was a very different place. Social media platforms as we know them today had not yet become part of everyday life.
Inspired by a combination of AOL’s online communities and Netscape’s personal web pages, MyHammond.com began as a community website, city guide, and business web directory. Visitors could upload photos and post comments, giving people opportunities to share experiences and interact online long before Facebook existed.
The website also helped local businesses and government agencies establish an online presence. Among the early organizations developed and hosted through MyHammond.com were the Tangipahoa Parish Registrar of Voters, Tangipahoa Parish Animal Control, and the Hammond Regional Arts Center.
These early efforts reflected a straightforward idea: local people and organizations deserved a place on the growing internet where the community could find them.
Evolving With the Internet, Staying Local
Over the past 26 years, technology has changed dramatically. Websites have evolved, mobile devices have transformed how people search for information, and online directories have become an important way to discover businesses and services.
MyHammond.com has evolved with the internet, adapting its technology and presentation while remaining true to its original purpose: serving as a local city guide and business directory.
A New Website and a Continuing Mission
The launch of the new website in 2026 marks an important step forward for MyHammond.com and MyPonchatoula.com. Both now share a website designed to help residents and visitors discover local businesses, organizations, government agencies, attractions, and other places of interest throughout Hammond, Ponchatoula, and Tangipahoa Parish.
The website is still a work in progress, and we are continually adding listings and improving the directory. Building a comprehensive local resource takes time, and we welcome the community’s help.
We invite residents and visitors to explore the new website, check back as more listings are added, and share it with friends, family, and local businesses. Business owners and organizations are encouraged to visit the directory and make sure their information is represented.
As we celebrate 26 years online, we look forward to continuing to connect our communities and building a useful local resource for years to come.
Preserving the History and Heritage of Tangipahoa Parish

A Local Directory With a Personal Touch
In a world where many businesses depend on social media platforms like Facebook to establish and maintain their online presence, MyHammond.com and MyPonchatoula.com offer something different: a locally focused business directory and city guide backed by real people who understand our community.
Social media can be a useful tool for promoting a business, but finding help when a problem arises with an online listing or business presence can sometimes be challenging. With MyHammond.com, local businesses have the advantage of working with a local website that they can contact directly when questions or problems need attention.
We believe that personal communication, local knowledge, and a commitment to the communities we serve still matter. Our goal is not simply to provide a place for businesses to appear online, but to build lasting relationships with the people and organizations that make Hammond, Ponchatoula, and Tangipahoa Parish a great place to live and do business.
Help Us Build a Better Local Guide
A great community guide grows with the help of the people who know our communities best — the people who live, work, and spend time here. We invite residents throughout Hammond, Ponchatoula, and Tangipahoa Parish to get involved by recommending their favorite local businesses, restaurants, places to visit, and other community attractions.
If you’re a business owner, adding your business is easy: simply click the “Add Your Business” button and follow the instructions. Residents can also help others discover great local places by sharing their experiences, leaving comments, and rating businesses. Your recommendations and feedback can help others decide where to eat, shop, find services, or explore something new. Together, we can continue building a more useful, informative, and community-driven city guide that benefits everyone.
The Same Local Mission. Connecting our community — and continuing to grow.
